Started a Bulk Diet by Eating More to Create more Muscle, Strength, and Athleticism

I want to take my training to the next level but I feel intuitively that my body is not fueled enough.

Studying male and female bodybuilders in how they eat and train. I realized something for sure not eating enough to fuel my training. They do sessions of bulking and cutting. I do not want to be a bodybuilder, but want to take my muscle training to the next level of a strong and sexy body.

Wow, doing something crazy by doing a bulk diet and the winter months are perfect for that. This will be a new experience for me to eat more to become more fit to create more muscle, strength, and athleticism. Eating more with quality workouts to see if it will increase muscle growth.

I have always been mostly a one-meal-a-day and fasting type of person for years. It will be a learning curve because it is like relearning how to eat all over again. Anyway, I wanted to document this moment of I started doing a bulk diet by eating a variety of meals throughout the day.


Weekly Log - December 17th-December 23rd - Training and Refueling

  • Workout Week: 1 Full Rest Day - 2 Hiking Days - 4 Training Days
  • A great training and hiking week, felt fully worked out. My favorite daily sessions were the Beastmode / CarolineGirvan.com and Metamorphosis / TracyAnderson.com mix.
  • Started Bulk Diet: Already Noticed Eating More, I Have More Energy.
  • The purpose of bulk is to gain muscle and gained fat can happen. However, for me, it seems like I lost body fat by eating more. I probably still need to eat more than I do. This is my first bulk diet it is a learning curve on how to eat more in a day. The good thing is I love eating and cooking my meals to fuel my workouts. Onto week two of the bulking diet of new learning.

Saturday - Fitness Log: Just a Hiking Day - Cardio Day
Type of Hike: Pole Hiking Day
Notes: I use two trekking poles one in each hand for a full-body workout.
- One Hiking Session: Afternoon Hiking in Nature -
Noted: Another Spring weather day during winter, love it.

Saturday - Refueling Food Log - Day 7 of Bulk Diet
Before Hiking
- Coffee, Tea
- Eggs and Cow Cheese
After Training Refueling:
- Orange Juice (added: salt, water)
- Pork Steaks (cooked on butter)
- Corn, Onions, Garlic, Peppers, Honey, Butter
- Blue Tortilla Chips with Goat Cheese
- Crunchy Peanut Butter, Grape Jelly, Cow Milk
- Eggnog with a snack of Sugar Cookies

Friday - Fitness Log: Training

- Sandwich: Salmon, Buttered Garlic Bread, Avocado, Cilantro
- Crunchy Peanut Butter, Grape Jelly, Cow Milk
- Eggnog with a Snack of Pears, Cashews

Thursday - Fitness Log: Training

Wednesday- Full Rest Day from Training and Hiking
Notes: Muscles felt fully worked from Monday and Tuesday training sessions. Felt the message within the body a full rest day.

- Leftover Meats: Stir-fry: Beef, Pork, Chicken
+ Stir-fry: Veggies/Herbs Cooked in Coconut Oil
+ Stir-fry: White Rice Cooked in Butter
- Sandwich: Pork Bacon, Toasted Bread, Maple Syrup, Sour Cream
- Crunchy Peanut Butter, Grape Jelly, Cow Milk

Sunday - Fitness Log: Just a Hiking Day - Cardio Day
Type of Hike: Pole Hiking Day
Notes: I use two trekking poles one in each hand for a full-body workout.
- Two Hiking Sessions: Sunrise and Sunset Hiking in Nature -
- Wonderful Hiking Weather: Above average temperatures, it felt like a spring day instead of a winter day. It was a warm cloudy with some sprinkles day with a wilderness of quietness.

Sunday - Refueling Food Log - Day 1 of Bulk Diet
- Eggs, Oatmeal, Coffee, Tea, Orange Juice (added salt),
- Smoothie: Frozen Peaches, Cow Milk, Almonds, Honey
- Crackers, Goat Cheese
